WHAT IS VRP??
The Virtual Rehabilitation Platform (VRP), powered by Jintronix, is Functional Pathways’ virtual rehabilitation system designed to make skilled therapeutic interventions challenging and fun, thus improving patient engagement. Using state-of-the art motion-capture technology, VRP is able to accurately capture 3-dimensional coordinates of 25 joints on the human body, 30 times per second. This technology allows for accurate assessment and recording of objective information such as functional reach and joint range of motion. Within the VRP, you can choose from a vast library of clinically based assessments, targeted exercises, and therapeutic activities, designed to address underlying impairments and improve function as part of a skilled therapeutic plan of care.

The VRP includes a set of standardized patient assessments that can increase clinical efficiency by rapidly and precisely measuring objective progress. All the data is accessible remotely, enabling clinicians to quantitatively and visually assess the progress of their patients over the course of their treatment. | The VRP exercise platform contains numerous exercises commonly prescribed by clinicians for orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. Each exercise puts the patient in an interactive environment where they are guided by a “virtual coach”. The coach monitors the patient’s movements, ensuring that they correctly perform the number of sets and repetitions as prescribed by their clinician. | The VRP includes activities that train patients for unilateral movement, bi-lateral coordination and balance, as well as range-of-motion and motor control for body parts ranging from shoulders to ankles. While patients engage in these activities, the VRP evaluates complex movement patterns and informs therapists of isolated movement components where special attention is needed. |
WHAT DIFFERENTIATES THE VRP SYSTEM FROM OTHER DEVICES:
- FDA clearance (Microsoft® Kinect device)
- HIPAA compliant
- Data and analytics specifically for rehabilitation
- No handheld controllers or devices to mount to a patient’s body
BENEFITS OF USING THE VRP SYSTEM:
- Keeps patients motivated, excited and engaged in their recovery
- Transforms therapeutic exercises into goal-based activities
- Skills practiced coincide with real-world functional mobility and ADLs
- Improves attention and speed of processing
- Enhance outcomes allowing patients to achieve their goals
