I promise this is not going to be a lecture, just call it something to consider; I will  keep it short and sweet!

Every year at this time, I like many others, reflect on the year that is quickly coming to an end and ponder the new one that is about to begin. I use this time as an opportunity to give thanks for all of the goods things that I am fortunate to have in my life. At the same time, I think about what is important to me so that I can concentrate on those things moving forward. I am not going to bore you with my list as everyone has one of their own. Nevertheless, while I find this exercise helps one grow personally, I think  individuals would also benefit from doing the same thing at their workplace. For example, if you are the one that is in charge, it is up to you to set the tone and “culture” (along with “it is what it is”, the most overused words in the American lexicon) for your place of business.

So as we say goodbye to 2014, I encourage you to take some time to think during this holiday season. Think about what is important to you for your business and share that information with your staff; then, strive to make it part of your daily mission in 2015. I think you will find it to be a worthwhile endeavor.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
